MACAU SPECIAL AUTONOMOUS REGION (SAR): Bishop Discusses Human Rights Education

Speaking of the challenge of creating inclusive education for children with special needs, the Catholic Bishop of Macau, Steven Lee Bung Sang spoke of the importance of human rights education as a means to change cultural based attitudes.  The comments were made at a conference on Inclusive Education, Sports and Social Media. The Bishop said, “Diocesan schools take the lead, we open up and collaborate with the government for this inclusive education. Secondly, we try to educate people about these being basic human rights, since we believe that God created everyone the same, and with the same values and dignity. It’s a way to live in harmony and through these two ways we can breakthrough a bit,”
