QATAR: Government Provides Guide to Implement Teaching of Human Rights

The Qatari National Human Rights Committee (NHRC) and Ministry of Education and Higher Education ha issued a guide on human rights education.  The guide is to be incorporated into curricula next year and covers, among others, “the right to identity, the right to play, the right to education, the right to health, the right to equality.”  Dr. Ali Bin Sumaikh Al Marri, NHRC Chairman, called the guide, “an important and fundamental step” towards proper education and early awareness of the culture of human rights.
