LIBERIA: Human Rights Training for National Police Discussed

The training and role of Liberia’s national security force was discussed recently during the reading of a baseline study report for the structural provision of human rights education to authorities of the Liberia National Police Force.  Bartholomew B. Colley, acting chairperson of the Independent National Commission on Human Rights (INCHR), is quoted in the Daily Observer article as saying, “ the Commission wants to see a society that is safe for everyone and conscious of the existence of human rights as seen in other parts of the world. … Promotion of human rights must be thought of as education for both the rights holders and those who provide it.”
