08 Feb New York: University Establishes Institute for the Study of Human Rights
As reported in the independent student website Pipe Dream , Binghamton University (BU) of New York has established a Human Rights Institute. The article indicates that “The institute aims to develop University-based research, teaching and community engagement in international human rights issues.” Alexandra Moore, associate director of the institute, is quoted as saying, that the institute’s goal “is to promote faculty research in human rights, to develop ways to bring faculty research to bear on public policy and to create opportunities for students.”
