TAIWAN: Human Rights Museum Opens

Taiwan has recently opened a National Human Rights Museum on Green Island near Taipai.  Green Island was the site of a prison during the period known in Taiwan as the “White Terror.”  As reported in Focus Taiwan, President Tsai Ing-wen (蔡英文) spoke at the opening and said, “through this museum, we hope the younger generation will realize the importance of freedom and continue to strive for human rights from the lessons learned through history.”
