Human rights training for teachers in Kurdistan [EN/AR/KU]

KURDISTAN REGION OF IRAQ – ReliefWeb reports of a training session intended to raise awareness of human rights education among secondary school educators.  The four day training session, sponsored jointly by the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI) Human Rights Office (HRO) and the Ministry of Education in Kurdistan Region of Iraq, was attended by 23 teachers.  According to ReliefWeb, “Ms. Shahla Saeed, Human Rights Education Project Manager at HRO emphasized the role of teachers in influencing students’ attitudes in line with human rights values and fundamental freedoms in schools.”
