CANADA: University of Manitoba to offer degree in Human Rights
The University of Manitoba is in the process of establishing a Master of Human Rights (MHR) as part of the school’s Roboson Hall Faculty of Law. According to The Manitoban the proposal for a MHR degree has been approved by the University senate and is awaiting final approval by the university’s board of governors. According to Jonathan Black-Branch, the program “will be unique in that it is focused on human rights issues completely,” adding that the degree is “the first one to be called a ‘master of human rights’ not, for example, a ‘master of arts in human rights.’”
