10 Feb SCOTLAND: Human Rights Fellowship Formed
The formation of The Scottish Human Rights Defender Fellowship has been announced by the University of Dundee. The Fellowship is a partnership between the university and the Scottish Government and is supported by the Scottish Human Rights Commission (SHRC) and various NGOs. The establishment of the fellowship is reported by The National, who quotes Scottish Parliament Member and Equalities Secretary Angela Constance as saying “Across the globe there are people defending basic human rights that everybody should be able to take for granted. From standing against torture, arbitrary detention and discrimination, to campaigning for access to housing, health care, education, food and water.”
