New Vision reports on a debate competition for Senior High School students in the Mbale District of Uganda. The debate competition focused on respect for human rights is a precondition for development in Uganda. The competition was organized by Uganda Human Rights Commission (UHRC). The article cites Mbale district education officer Michael Nangosha, as commending UHRC for engaging students in debates that focus on human rights, saying that it was paramount for them to understand their rights while still in school.
