15 Nov PHILIPPINE ISLANDS: Opposition Senate Candidates Call for More Human Rights Education
Appearing at a pre-election forum hosted by Tindig Philipinas, three Philippine senatorial candidates spoke to the importance of human rights education. According to rappler.com, the three aspirants from the opposition party, Chel Diokno, Samira Gutoc, and Erin Tañada, “believe there should be strengthened efforts to make Filipinos more aware about their human rights – from teaching them at home to making the justice system more accessible to the poor.”
