Writing in Digital Standard, Irungu Houghton, Amnesty International Executive Director, speaks of the challenges facing his country’s educational system. He sees much of the solution to the multitude of problems facing schools in Kenya in the teaching of human rights. He affirms, “Human rights education is key to reversing this. Schools with human rights education clubs have recorded open and constructive student-teacher relations, less aggression and violence and stronger leadership capabilities among students.”
