24 Aug TAIWAN: Human Rights Film Festival Opens
The 2019 Taiwan International Human Rights Film Festival is scheduled to open in Taipei and Kaohsiung in September. The festival, which is sponsored by the Taiwan National Human Rights Museum, includes the screening of 11 international films centered on human rights. The festival will collaborate with schools and other organizations to host additional screenings in order to further human rights education. Huang Shu-mei (黃淑梅), director of the festival, describes the objective of the festival, “to foster an awareness of human rights so that the values can become part of people’s lives, even in remote areas.”
