LIBERIA: Speakers and panel discussions to celebrate Human Rights Day
Daily Observer reports that Liberia, in conjunction with the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), will celebrate Human Rights Day on January 16 and 17. The keynote address will be given by Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf. In addition to a number of other speakers the program will include panel discussions featuring national and international human rights, peace and education activists. According to the article, “It is expected that the celebration will serve to strengthen the ECOWAS Human Rights Architecture.”
