THE GAMBIA/NEW YORK: The Gambia Reports Progress in Human Rights Education

Speaking at the 16th Annual International Human Rights Summit at the United Nations in New York , Nfamara Jawneh The executive director of Beakanyang, a Gambian human rights and development organization, has described the status of human rights and human rights education in The Gambia.  Jawneh praised the Youth for Human Rights International organization for providing human rights educational materials to Gambians over the years , and stated, “with our human rights education program in schools and communities across the country, more Gambians are now becoming conscious of their rights.”  It should be noted that Jawneh, is also the Youth for Human Rights The Gambia coordinator.  The Youth for Human Rights organization is a Church of Scientology affiliate.
