13 Jul UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Michelle Bachelet, warns that “bold and urgent action” is needed as Children’s Rights are increasingly threatened by current global instability
The gap between the rights enshrined in that Convention and the everyday reality of children around the world is growing wider and wider as the current global instability threatens hard-won gains in child rights. Only eight years remain for the SDGs to be achieved, and states need to move now to strengthen protections.
Because the early years of a child’s life lay the foundation for their growth and potential, bold and urgent action must be taken now “to generate the transformative change that our children deserve,” says UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Michelle Bachelet.
