22 Nov USA/SWITZERLAND: Business School Adds Human Rights to Curriculum
The New York based NYU Stern School of Business reports that the University of Geneva, Switzerland, will follow its example in setting up a Center for Human Rights as part of the business school. The idea is for the center to provide companies with resources to create a business model that will allow profits and principles to coexist. Dorothée Baumann-Pauly, Research Director of Stern’s Center for Business and Human Rights, commented, “to change business education so that human rights become an integral part of business education, we need many allies. … We very early on set our eyes on Geneva, which is arguably the capital of human rights, and it’s a logical place for an academic platform that could advance human rights and business education.”
